The story opens with an accident that takes the life of Yuichi's father and leaves his mother confused -- her memory shattered. Yuichi, who is an adopted son, struggles to cope with his father's death and help his mother recover from the loss. One day, Rika, the family's faithful servant, is helping Mama take a bath when Yuichi hears an unusual noise coming from the bathroom. To Yuichi's shock, Rika is sexually comforting Mama. On the anniversary of Rika's mother's death, Rika takes a day off. Yuichi is now left alone with Mama. The moment Rika leaves the house, Mama falls from her wheelchair and gets food all over her dress. Yuichi has no choice but to help Mama take a shower and clean up. Naked, Mama thinks Yuichi is her dead husband and calls him "Master" repeatedly. That's when Rika comes back to pick up something she forgot. Rika hears Mama calling Yuichi "Master." After everyone goes to bed, Rika comes to Yuichi's bedroom and offers to comfort him.
